Minor Disclaimer: This is actually the first poem I remember writing, way back in the eighth grade.
Eternal Spring
The birds bring in the springtime
With songs of joy and love.
Their chittering and twittering
Bring sunshine from above.
Their songs apear to melt the snow
Of winter's icy reign,
But ne'er melt they my heart as cold
As any winter rain.
The ray of light that melts my heart
I shall never feel,
For your true love is the vital part
I lack to make me real.
The bird's spring, brought by song,
May remain for a while,
But then it's gone,
Leaving only the remembrance of a smile.
My heart craves the warming light
Only your love can bring,
Which would take my heart's icy night
And leave only eternal spring.
